Edgar Collado

Edgar has over 20 years of experience in finance, general management and sales roles in manufacturing, real estate, telecommunications, and financial services. Prior to joining Tobias Financial Advisors, Edgar served as the Vice President of Finance for Ingersoll Rand’s Latin America strategic business unit, where he led a finance organization with over 100 associates supporting a $500M+ manufacturing and distribution business in Latin America. Edgar served nearly 10 years at Ingersoll Rand in positions of increasing responsibility, supporting industry leading brands such as Trane, Thermo King and Hussmann. He was awarded the President’s Award three times for his work integrating financial processes/systems, developing and promoting a compliance culture, and identifying tax planning opportunities resulting in multi-million-dollar savings to the company. Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Edgar was an associate manager for Weichert Realtors in Westfield, New Jersey, and held several financial management roles at AT&T where he was a graduate of their top-ranked Financial Leadership Program. 

Edgar received an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business, with a focus on strategy and operations, and he holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from St. John’s University. He traveled to Panama as part of NYU’s study abroad programs and studied Doing Business in Latin America with INCAE Business School in Costa Rica. 

Edgar is passionate about working with and managing growing and dynamic businesses. He is originally from Queens, New York, and is an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants sports teams. He currently resides in Weston, Florida with his wife and their three boys.  He enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering for organizations that share his passion for youth programs, small business support and assisting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.He is a volunteer at SCORE Broward Mentors, a member of the SCORE Foundation board of directors, serves on the Advisory Board for Best Buddies South Florida, is on the Knowledge for Practice Advisory Group for the CFP Board, and is the chair for the School Advisory Forum at both Country Isles Elementary School and Tequesta Trace Middle School where his children attend.Edgar is also a member of the High Impact Financial Operations Network (HIFON), National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the Exit Planning Institute (EPI).
