How Do We Estimate Client Longevity?
It’s true we don’t have a crystal ball, so as we plan for the future we can’t guess everything that may or may not come up. One of the hardest parts of planning for an unforeseen future is guessing a client’s longevity. We want you to have the lifestyle you’ve been planning for, for the length of your life.
Recently, Marianela was quoted in an InvestmentNews article about how we go about this task. The article explores a number of different tactics taken by financial advisors. For us, it’s a conservative approach. We would rather overguess than underguess. Marianela shares that we start with a baseline around 100 in assuming longevity.
